 FAQs

  • The TGA no longer expressly permits references to terms such as ‘wrinkle reducing injections’ or ‘dermal fillers’ where those terms would result in a reasonable consumer understanding the intention of the content is to promote the use or supply of a prescription-only medicine or good containing such as substance. This includes through acronyms, nicknames, abbreviations and hashtags, which may be taken by a consumer as a reference to a specific prescription-only medicine or substance.

You can read more about their new rule and regulations for cosmetic procedures HERE

  • Individuals who don’t have prominent cheekbones, cheek filler can be used to subtly give you a natural contour.

Individuals who lack volume in the centre of the cheek or have flatness of the cheeks, this can be restored with dermal filler.

  • Facial fillers are structured differently than lip filler. They are “thicker” and “firmer”. Due to the nature of the product, these fillers may last up to 24 months. There is evidence based studies suggesting Dermal Filler may last over 2+ years.

  • Individuals who have prominent and high cheekbones are not a good candidate, and those who have a good amount of volume in the cheeks, as they would be at risk of looking unnatural and obviously ‘overfilled’.

  • The key to achieving natural results is the provider that you choose, their technique, and the quality of product that they inject with. The most important factor would be picking the right provider. We encourage clients to seek multiple opinions.

  • The amount used and placement will vary and depends on what areas need treating, and what the patient’s own aesthetic goals are. This is something we discuss in detail during a consultation. At Aesthetic Avenue our technique changes depending on the patient, and we adapt to give individuals the result that goes hand in hand with their own goals.

  • Swelling and bruising may result from injections and is variable from individual to individual. Usually it is less significant than the swelling in the lips. You will be provided with a take home ice pack to assist in the management of swelling and bruising.

  • The goal of aesthetic medicine is to help you look and feel your best ~ bringing out the best of you. Each client is unique, which makes each treatment journey look a bit different from the next.

A holistic approach is looking at the face and ageing as a whole, opposed to facial areas or concerns in isolation.

Ageing is multifactorial and is best addressed with a multimodal treatment plan. This means we can gradually and mindfully use a wide variety of treatments to address individual aspects of ageing together to create a harmonious, balanced and natural looking result.

  • All medical procedures carry a degree of risk. The main side effects and risks associated with Dermal Filler are: bleeding, bruising, swelling and small chance of infection.

A rare complication is called a “Vascular Occlusion”. This is when dermal filler is inadvertently injected into a blood vessel, and can impair the blood flow to the area of skin/tissue. This is reversible but it needs to be dissolved immediately. If it happens at the time of injection we know what to look for and it will be reversed straight away. Nurse Raluka will educate you regarding the signs and symptoms to look out for which include excessive pain, white or patchy discolouration at or near the site of injection. You will be provided with an after hour number to contact Nurse Raluka should you have any concerns or questions.

  • Pain is a very subjective experience and each individual has a different pain threshold. At Aesthetic Avenue we aim to make you as comfortable as possible during your procedure. We utilise strong topical anaesthetic, ice, stress balls and distraction induced analgesia (vibration device).

  • This will vary from treatment to treatment and the number of areas we are addressing at one time. Procedure time can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

All appointments allow time for a consultation prior to treatment to discuss your concerns, devise a treatment plan and answer any questions.

At Aesthetic Avenue, you will never feel rushed.

  • Unfortunately we cannot treat anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent.

  • No, you cannot have any cosmetic injectables treatments. It is unethical to perform studies on pregnant or breastfeeding women - as such, there is no evidence to suggest it is safe for your babe. However, we can still undergo a consultation where we tailor a treatment plan for when you’re able to proceed.

  • We accept cash, card, ZipPay and Afterpay. There is a surcharge on some of these payment methods.

We also offer TLC payment plans from $2,000 to $50,000. Simply contact the clinic to discuss next steps!

  • As a mother of 3, Nurse Raluka is very understanding. You are welcome to bring your child/children or a friend to your appointment. Please notify the clinic if bringing children so extra time can be allocated to your appointment. Please ensure your younger children are self secured in a pram or are at an age where they can sit for the duration of your appointment.
