Common Concerns We Address

  • The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a complex hinge connecting your jawbone to your skull, enabling essential movements such as talking, chewing, and yawning. TMJ disorders can arise from various causes, leading to pain, discomfort, and functional limitations. These disorders might be due to teeth clenching and grinding muscle tension, jaw injuries, arthritis, or other factors affecting the joint's smooth operation.

  • Facial slimming for TMJ is a specialised treatment that addresses the symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorder while also enhancing facial aesthetics by slimming the jawline. This approach typically involves medical consultations and treatments focused on the masseter muscles, which play a key role in TMJ disorders. By relaxing these muscles, patients can experience significant relief from TMJ-related pain, tension, and headaches, as well as an improved range of jaw motion. Additionally, this muscle relaxation can lead to a more contoured and slender facial appearance. During a consultation, we will evaluate your symptoms, medical history, and aesthetic goals to develop a personalised treatment plan.

TMJ disorders can arise from various causes, leading to pain, discomfort, and functional limitations. Symptoms of TMJ disorders can include:

    • Jaw pain or tenderness

    • Aching pain around your ear

    • Difficulty or discomfort while chewing

    • Locking of the jaw, making it hard to open or close your mouth

    • Clicking or popping sounds when moving your jaw

  • Pain is a very subjective experience and each individual has a different pain threshold. At Aesthetic Avenue we aim to make you as comfortable as possible during your procedure. We utilise strong topical anaesthetic, ice, stress balls and distraction induced analgesia (vibration device).

  • We allow 30 minutes for the procedure.

All appointments allow time for a consultation prior to treatment to discuss your concerns, devise a treatment plan and answer any questions.

At Aesthetic Avenue, you will never feel rushed.

  • Unfortunately we cannot treat anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent.

  • No, you cannot have any cosmetic injectables treatments. It is unethical to perform studies on pregnant or breastfeeding women - as such, there is no evidence to suggest it is safe for your babe. However, we can still undergo a consultation where we tailor a treatment plan for when you’re able to proceed.

  • We accept cash, card, ZipPay and Afterpay. There is a surcharge on some of these payment methods.

We also offer TLC payment plans from $2,000 to $50,000. Simply contact the clinic to discuss next steps!

  • As a mother of 3, Nurse Raluka is very understanding. You are welcome to bring your child/children or a friend to your appointment. Please notify the clinic if bringing children so extra time can be allocated to your appointment. Please ensure your younger children are self secured in a pram or are at an age where they can sit for the duration of your appointment.
